December McKinleyville Arts Night

Join us for our community's celebration of local art and artists for music, food and fun.

NorCal Tattoo, 1179 Central Avenue, will be featuring tattoo art by Ted Marks. Next door at The Front Gallery & Gifts, 1181 Central Avenue, view photography by Jon Marx. They will also have live music by Ricky B & Friends.

Down the street in the Miller Business Park, Mirador Glass will be displaying photographs by "The Old Photo Guy" Greg Rumney. Gary is known for his historical work and color fine art. Conscious Home will be featuring hand hammered, and fire painted copperwork by Aaron Houser, with displays throughout the night of the creative process in action.

Grace Good Shepherd Church , 1450 Hiller Rd, welcomes back the spirited Mc Kinleyville Community Choir, and Sandy Olinger, Director, with their annual Holiday Music performance, which will begin at 7 pm. Handmade quilts and wall hangings will be on display by local artists, Marty Burdette, Nancy Ambrosini, and Barbara Brimlow. Christmas cookies and refreshments will be available. They are also hosting their annual SERRV Alternative Christmas Sale. SERRV International is a nonprofit which works around the world to enable artisans and farmers to gain access to markets and maintain a sustainable income. Proceeds from the sale improve working conditions and provide access to education and healthcare for artisans and their families.

At Blake's Books, 2005 Central Avenue, check out pastels by Libby George. Across the street at the McKinleyville Shopping Center, join the merchants for the annual Holiday Open House. Shops will be open late for a Holiday Celebration with music, art, treats and more! Ramone's will be showing the jewelry and amber art of Loreta Slemingaite-Bright. Plaza Design will be displaying acrylic paintings by Thao LeKhac. They will also be featuring acoustic guitar by Arte Brown. Stork's Nest will be featuring local handmade sterling silver jewelry with freshwater pearls, swarovski crystals, and natural stones by Greta Daniels. Yurika Beads will feature a large selection stones, crystals, imported beads and giftware.

McKinleyville Art Night continues to be the third Friday of each month and is open for all McKinleyville business to display the work of our local artists. For more information, contact coordinator Taffy Stockton at (707) 834-6460.
